I am a traveling nurse that works with cancer patients. I travel all over the country, and am not averse to relocating. I am blessed in that I can work almost anywhere.

I have a niece that I helped raise and consider as a daughter.

I have pets that travel with me. We travel mostly in the NE. I do not care for the excessive heat of Florida, even though I am a "native" Floridian, born of native Floridians. I like the snow and also the ocean. I enjoy treasuring the beauty of the land that I am in for the time that I am in it. Life is too short not to.

I choose my assignments based on desire to see and area, or to be near my family. Money is important but not of the utmost importance in that choice. I make enough to pay my bills, and care for those in my life that have not the ability to care for themselves without help - I take care of my obligations. I expect others in my life to do the same. I have NEVER bounced a check.

I eat healthy but do not diet. I watch my weight as a sign of health but do not obsess over a few pounds. I believe the burger should not ever be proceeded by the words "turkey, soy, or veggie"

Just call me Conservative, I always thought of my self as middle of the road, but I think the motr has now gone too far left. I am now a sign carrying Tea Party goer. I love good music, opera, symphony, blue grass, new age. I also enjoy antique shops and shopping in general, traveling USA and foreign, a good cup of coffee with stimulating conversation, quiet evenings at home, cooking, roads less traveled and a warm hand to hold. First of all thanks for taking a look.
After a 33 year marriage I am ready to spend the rest of my days with a loving and affectionate woman. I do not consider our divorce as a failed marriage, but a learning experience. I haven't had a real job for about 4 years... it's great, I work a little to stay up to date & for fun. Ex-executive in the high tech business. Mostly on the east coast, but I moved to Nor Cal in 1995. I used to really love my work & sometimes miss it... for a while. I've seen the up's and down's. New spirituality helps, as does meditation, etc.

My reading is strictly "self-help"... LOL. "The New Earth" is a must read... but its so dense, I'm on my first re-read... wait, maybe I'm dense! TV watching is really exciting with my taste: Discovery, History, PBS's Doo Wop, etc... and of course, NY Yankees, NY Giants, soccer, rugby, ESPN for all the updates.

I'm into diet & exercise. Make it to Gold's Gym at home and where ever I travel. Most weeks I'm there at 6:30 am each day... sometimes with Sunday's off... for an early start on the NYT's X-work puzzle. I work hard to keep a 32 waist because I love ice cream... and I don't share! But, if you really love ice cream too... I'll buy you your own pint. I have been known to split quarts, but only because I don't like day old... Ha!

I think about EVERYTHING. For example, I look at a traffic light, and I think about the electric current flowing through it, about the materials it is composed of, about the economics of it's manufacture etc. I live in a world awash with ideas; I can't turn it off, and have never wanted to. To that end, I'm interested in just about everything, but find that my interest is most focused upon abstract subjects.

I've always had a very strong idea of who I am, and have never felt a strong drive to be like other people just to fit in. My sense of humor is strong but a bit contemplative. (Dilbert, The Far Side, XKCD, Gary Larson) I've never had a strong interest in sports, but recognize this as an aberrant quality. I don't mind an interest in sports from my friends as long as they don't mind that I play Dungeons and Dragons! :-)

As perhaps that last comment demonstrated, I'm, a bit of a geek, but I don't let that fact dominate my life. I don't mind outdoor activities, but usually want to have some component of intellectual interest attached to them. For example, I enjoy visiting historical sites. I also very much enjoy creative activities, and try to bring my creativity into everything I do.
